I saw a comment from a successful internet marketer this week that I think is very important to consistently remind yourself of.

Almost everybody we talk to about network marketing is an employee. They come from an employee mindset. Very few are actually business owners.

The employee mindset is: “OK. I really want to be successful on my own. I don’t want to have a boss. I want to make more money. What do I do?”

The employee mindset is NOT: “OK. I’m going to work this out for myself and come up with my own business plan.”

And the point this guy was making is, the most important word when you are talking to a prospect is “system.”

Let me repeat that. Heck, let me SCREAM that.

THE MOST IMPORTANT WORD WHEN YOU ARE TALKING TO A PROSPECT IS:

SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM!

You’ve got to give them a step-by-step system. They have to see a system that can work for them. You have to show them how it has worked for others, and you have to show them, step-by-step, exactly what they will do with it.

But it’s more than just that. Your prospect not only has the opportunity to use a system that is tested and proven to work, but they also have the opportunity to talk to their prospects about that tested, proven system – which every prospect needs and wants. It’s really important. That is exactly what this guy is talking about.

You need to hammer prospects about the system. I mean, REALLY hammer them on this. Most prospects think, “Oh, this company has a great product. That’s what I need.” Or, “Oh, I’m personally sponsored by the heavy hitter. That’s what I need.” Or, “It’s been proven that this compensation plan pays out 80%, and over 90% of the people who use it are successful.”

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

Most prospects need to use the Success In 10 Steps ebook to have success, but some won’t. Everybody knows that a new person needs a tested, proven system to start with. MENTORING FOR FREE

So this group I’m in on a social site, there was a comment left out of the blue because, we’re just trying to help people think about all aspects of their business from compensation plans to P&P’s. The group admin and I tried to figure out where the ? came from, all that was mailed to the group members was an invatation to a free training call, genric, about compensation plans. What follows is the comment and the reply…

Do we really
want to compare compensation plans? Is PPL GIVING away stocks? Are they
offering REVENUE SHARING? Is your company planning a merge with a
multi-BILLION $$ company? And you say your business opportunity is the
best out there? Call me and we’ll compare notes!

Interesting comment Xxxxxx, is your company giving away stocks? Publicly traded means money from the teams pocket to pay the stockholders. Merging with a multi-billion dollar company? And who will pay all the new executives? That will come from the pay plan too. Will the pay plan change? A billion dollar company does not mean success for you. Why don’t you have Xxxxxx set you up with a free call with someone that’s been in the industry for 30 years and joined 100s of companies and ask him those ?’s and see what he knows from years of experience..What do you have to lose? Were trying to help people find the answers that will affect their check. Thank god I sought out the truth. I was in a company that made 3 billion last year and didn’t pay the part timers a dime except for their profits from retailing and there’s no residual in that, I think most of us want the backend money(residual), not the frontend (sponsoring bonus). I suggest everyone learn their comp. plan if their serious about owning their life, and that’s besides other key things from their P&Ps, like the word “continuing” meaning you must always be sponsoring, I personally NEVER have recruited into my biz, people ask if they can join me! Unfortunately many many people have to recruit to build their team!

And again I wonder where the comment came from, fear? lack? being so married to a program they were not willing to look to see if they could be successful? PEOPLE YOU NEED TO ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL………. SUCCESS IN 10 STEPS

Now let me address these one at a time, free domain hosting. While it is advised that you brand yourself this can be done for $5 a month, ask me I’ll tell you how. Autosponders to build a list. You don’t need a list to be successful you need one on one relationships! Free conference rooms, again not needed your phone is all you need!! Travel discounts, I love this one you can get travel discounts FREE on the web all you have to do is spend a little time and you can find them, YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY FOR A DISCOUNT!!! Pharmacy discounts? Huh? Have you ever heard of Wal-Mart? Marketing e-book? Why would you pay for that when you can get many of those for free? An affiliate program? If you’ve been around for any length of time you know affiliate programs are recruit recruit recruit! That’s not residual, walk away income.

Now I will tell you about my business. It has 2 parts, one is a program that teaches people everything the guru’s won’t tell you and frankly they don’t like the fact that we DO!!! Now I pay $19.95 a month for the privilege to help you learn the truth, this is NOT an affiliate program, many have asked me how much money I get if they join this program, I tell them NOTHING and it does not make any sense to them….. But the GREATEST thing is you don’t need to join the program to learn EVERYTHING you need to be successful; we will teach you for free with NO HOOKS!!!! In this program I have 8 splash pages an autosponder, over 10 free skills calls every week a huge toolkit with hundreds of recorded calls and videos that can train you on everything you need to know to be successful and the most amazing group of mentors this industry has ever seen all for one monthly fee.

There were 6 speakers all earning at least 100K per month in their respective businesses. Every speaker reiterated what we are teaching in Mentoring For Free, “It’s a relationship Business!!” People are starting to get it!! They all said it was about “Belief, that we need to have that burning desire that it will work!!! Michael said there were signs posted that said this is a training event DO NOT TRY TO CROSS RECRUITE yet someone did. Also he spoke again about enticement and that it is against the law and why would you want to be in business with someone that tells you to break the law. Where is the integrity?
Richard Brook from Canada shared some of what he thought were some of the problems in the industry. He said the following.
“It’s us against them” them being the scammers. Legit companies should commit to the field, to the longevity of the compensation model. A100 year commitment to the plan!! Does your give away a free e-book to get others to give away the book have a 100 yr plan?
To honor and champion the sales leaders to build with you, in other words corporate should be in a 100% partnership with YOU!!
To develop the very best products possible and to market them legally and responsibly, too many companies let distributors make claims and showing checks. There were some companies at convention that were making copies of big checks and handing them out at convention!! OMG!!
Design and market the opportunity the fosters trust and respect.
For the distributors he said,
DO YOUR DUE DILLAGANCE CHOOSE WISELY!!!
Marry your company for better or worse!!! And if you divorce them do it with honor, integrity and generosity.
Vote with your feet, if these companies are not running an ethical business “vote with your feet..Leave them” it is the fastest way to straighten out these companies!!

Just because they are paying does NOT mean they are LEGIT for one and it “matters” because even if people do “get Paid” and especially if you live “in the states” then YOU yes…even YOU “can” be prosecuted as well if you actively promote a program that is a scam and make said claims about said SCAM. Multilevel Marketing Plans

Multilevel marketing plans, also known as “network” or “matrix” marketing, are a way of selling goods or services through distributors. These plans typically promise that if you sign up as a distributor, you will receive commissions — for both your sales of the plan’s goods or services and those of other people you recruit to join the distributors. Multilevel marketing plans usually promise to pay commissions through two or more levels of recruits, known as the distributor’s “downline.”
If a plan offers to pay commissions for recruiting new distributors, watch out! Most states outlaw this practice, which is known as “pyramiding.” State laws against pyramiding say that a multilevel marketing plan should only pay commissions for retail sales of goods or services, not for recruiting new distributors.
Why is pyramiding prohibited? Because plans that pay commissions for recruiting new distributors inevitably collapse when no new distributors can be recruited. And when a plan collapses, most people — except perhaps those at the very top of the pyramid — lose their money.
The Federal Trade Commission cannot tell you whether a particular multilevel marketing plan is legal. Nor can it
give you advice about whether to join such a plan. You must make that decision yourself. However, the FTC suggests that you use common sense, and consider these seven tips when you make your decision:
1. Avoid any plan that includes commissions for recruiting additional distributors. It may be an illegal pyramid.
2. Beware of plans that ask new distributors to purchase expensive inventory. These plans can collapse quickly — and also may be thinly-disguised pyramids.
3. Be cautious of plans that claim you will make money through continued growth of your “downline” — the commissions on sales made by new distributors you recruit — rather than through sales of products you make yourself.
4. Beware of plans that claim to sell miracle products or promise enormous earnings. Just because a promoter of a plan makes a claim doesn’t mean it’s true! Ask the promoter of the plan to substantiate claims with hard evidence.
5. Beware of shills — “decoy” references paid by a plan’s promoter to describe their fictional success in earning money through the plan.
6. Don’t pay or sign any contracts in an “opportunity meeting” or any other high-pressure situation. Insist on taking your time to think over a decision to join. Talk it over with your spouse, a knowledgeable friend, an accountant or lawyer.
7. Do your homework! Check with your local Better Business Bureau and state Attorney General about any plan you’re considering — especially when the claims about the product or your potential earnings seem too good to be true.

Most “pyramid” schemes are illegal – ones where you give someone above you money (even for “services” like mailing lists, etc.) and your income is derived from people below you sending money to you, a portion of which you give to the person above you, for similar “services.” The hook is, as each person below you picks up more people below them, and so on, your “network” grows, and so does the money you get.

Unfortunately, these schemes are doomed to fail and are unsustainable, as they rely on constant recruitment of new suckers.

Some similar programs involve reselling a product or service – like tap water filters, or websites – where you buy the goods or services, to resell at a markup, from someone who’s bought them from someone else and is selling to you for a smaller markup. Be wary of these, for the above reasons. You often can’t deal directly with the manufacturer or distributor, but only with your “salesperson” who gets a cut of everything you buy/sell, who is likely in turn giving a cut to someone above them.

They sometimes operate in a gray area, while technically not illegal in many states (it’s not illegal to buy goods to resell), and very difficult to enforce existing laws when business is conducted over the internet

While working in an advertising web site today I came across this post,
“XXX XXXXXX servers are being relocated to the world’s top server farm which only offers a service to blue-chip and Fortune 500 companies. To get this facility XXX had to pass the highest levels of vetting for legality and credit rating. No other networking company in history has gained access.”

Now I began to wonder why an AMAZING money making program moved to another server? Was it to add legitimacy to a plan that’s having issues? I know of the best marketing business on the net after much research into its comp. plan and P&P’s, its position in the market place and it’s products and of course the integrity of it’s leaders. So in my mind I wonder why we would be posting that the mlm company moved to the best “farm” on the entire net? My view of the company is that its “product” will not be a legit plan according to the DOJ, SEC and FTC, and if you made money in it when these government departments come a knocking you better have saved any money you might have made cause someones gonna want it back. Again to be a real mlm you must have a product, and a consumable one if you expect RESIDUAL income!!! I believe you should do much research about anything you become involved in first!! Want to learn the TRUTH? Read a book and start down the path to your success!! SUCCESS IN 10 STEPS IF I DONT DO ANYTHING ELSE I HOPE I CAN GET EVERYONE TO AT LEAST THINK!!!!!
